Yankee Hate. But Much Respect.

So here I am writing my first blog. It's funny how you spend a lot of time thinking about doing this and how you feel you have so much to say, but when you finally go to do it, you draw a blank.

I'm facing my fears by doing this and putting myself out there for many to see. At this point I don't really care if I humiliate myself. Hey look at that I actually spelled humiliate right. I googled to check :) If you can't laugh at yourself then don't laugh at others. So like a typical guy my first blog will be about sports. A sport that bores a lot of people I understand but I love it, baseball.

Someone recently said to me "I don't know why people hate the Yankees and their fans." After thinking to myself "well why did you just one year ago" I felt I should get that out there. Yes I do hate the Yankees and their fans like most baseball fans. But I do respect the Yankees, winning 27 championships will earn you that respect. I respect the great players Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe Dimaggio, Micky Mantle, Yogi Berra-the timeless faces of baseball. I could only imagine how terrifying it must have been to have to pitch to Ruth and Gehrig back to back. Yes I even respect Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera how could you not?

But the Yankees are an orginization that jams those names, those teams, those championships, those legacies down your throat and walk around high and mighty like their shit doesn't stink. They walk around like the World Series is owed to them and as soon as the playoffs begin they start planning their championship parade. Their is such a thing as winning with class and the Yankees don't do it. The Cardinals have won the second most in the MLB, the Canadians have won the most in the NHL and I believe the Steelers have won the most in the NFL. They don't jam that down your throat. They don't act like they are supposed to win. They are good winners. Yankees are like the girl who knows she's good looking and calls other girls who are skinny and pretty fat and ugly. Nobody likes those girls.

As for the fans? They are the same way. Arrogant, ignorant, snobs, pompous assholes. They make arrogant ignorant statements like "it's everyones dream to play for the yankees" Actually it's every baseballs player dream to win a championship with either their home town team or the team they grew up idolizing. Everyone talks about Philly fans but you don't hear about Philly fans throwing beers and trying to spit on opposing players wives. That is just nasty animal behavior. Yes I know a Phillies fan got drunk and vomited on someone on purpose and that is very nasty as well. But that's one incident compared to several in New York.

So yes the Yankees are respected for their championships. But hated because it's like they tied you down in a chair, hold your mouth open wide, and jam that shit down your throat. So here's my first blog enjoy or whatever.
